What does it mean to pray these days? When the disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray he gives them words that we continue to use today. Beyond “thoughts and prayers,” he teaches them something about God’s compassionate faithfulness that we still sometimes struggle to accept. In the process he also give us a way to position ourselves intelligently and appropriately with God and each other.
