We remember, or currently experience, the traditional anticipation of the holiday season, which church people call Advent. But while one is a sprint resolved on Christmas Day, the other is a multi-millennial marathon with an uncertain timeline. In this in-between era the world still seems a mess, yet desperately yearning toward health. Patience can wear thin. The prophet sings the promise of a desert in bloom. Jesus affirms signs of divine intervention. James urges patience and courage, strengthened in community.
“Patience Wears Thin,” Sunday at the Reedville Church, 9:30 am.
