As we move from the temporary and makeshift to a more permanent footing Communications Team wants you to know that many things are going quite well, including virtual worship, administration, building care, staffing, stewardship and finances, community ministry and member care.
Deacons have systematically stepped up contact with members, especially those not able to connect for worship, and a survey is underway to assess how we might better connect.
The Food Pantry continues monthly service and has benefited from additional financial support from Presbytery Disaster Assistance (PDA) and other special gifts.
We continue to receive heartfelt concerns in the community prayer mailbox and include them in our prayers.
And the Table to Go project continues to grow in numbers and expertise. We have just received a grant of $10,000 “Nourishing the Community” from the Albertson’s Foundation that session is considering how best to use to nourish the community.
We face considerable challenges together in the next year or so. Yet in the midst of them we’re experiencing the guiding, empowering presence of God’s Spirit in fresh ways. We’re not surviving, we’re thriving, with thanks to God and each other. It seems possible that in our next normal, we may found ourselves something of a new creation.
