Faith sometimes gets sequestered in the realm of thought and feeling. But its home is really in the body. In this season of Covid-19 and “I can’t breathe,” we are freshly aware of the body’s beauty and vulnerability. The body of Abraham tying the body of Isaac to the altar, the body of the believer as an instrument of righteousness, the thirsty body offered cold water. Faith is a doing word not a saying word. Faith works itself out in flesh and blood, hunger and thirst, compassion and grace.
