Jesus trudges through the gospels, teaching, healing, arguing with critics, partying with frenemies, and trying to be the love of God. It’s sometimes gritty, grinding stuff. Then, in a moment on a mountain, we catch a taste of things to come. God gives us real lives to live in the real world, a world infused with God’s glory. It’s revealed as a gift, often fleeting. And we get a taste of things to come.
Tomorrow is Transfiguration of the Lord Sunday and the beginning of Lent. Get a taste of things to come, maybe on a mountain. Maybe at the Reedville Church. Maybe in bread and cup, in worship.
