Some of us like to think of ourselves as “spiritual but not religious.” I think it’s a false choice. On Pentecost they gathered for a religious harvest holiday, and were touched by the Spirit is fresh ways. “Touched,” because it didn’t even seem to muss anyone’s hair. The Spirit just “rested” upon people. Then they started to understand one another across the barriers. They spoke in power and truth, fear gave way to peace, and a vital community was born that continues to flourish today.
The Spirit Rested, on Pentecost Sunday at the Reedville Church, May 31, worship at 9:30 am by Zoom. Contact us for an invitation.
