The extraordinary is sometimes revealed in the ordinary. It was just another wedding. When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother nudged him to respond turning six jugs of water into the best wine at the party. In John’s telling the incident takes on cosmic significance and signals God’s presence in a startling new way.
