Two disciples asked Jesus to do “whatever we ask.” We like to walk the path of faith on our own terms. I do. That’s understandable. It makes sense. We being with wanting Jesus to do whatever we ask. So Jesus has a world in mind where greatness begins in servanthood, the last become first, and true life is available to everyone. He models it with his own life and death. Sometimes that means shifting our expectations from whatever we ask to God’s unfolding promise to mend the entire universe.
Hope to see you in worship at the Reedville Church. This Sunday enjoy a full Baked Potato Bar after worship, about 11:00. It’s free, and donations will help pay the dry summer water bill for the Community Garden.
