Maundy Thursday Service of Communion and Foot Washing – Thursday, Apr. 14, 7:30 pm
On the night of his betrayal and arrest Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples and washed their feet as a sign of his “new commandment” (mandatum novum) that they love one another as he has loved them. So in this version of our Maundy Thursday service we share the Eucharist and offer the option of the ritual washing of feet by teams of elders. Those who would like to participate in the foot washing are encouraged to wear footwear comfortable to manage.
