God works in real time. Not maybe time or should’ve time, but real time. Now is the day of salvation, in those days, in the fifteenth year. In the fifteenth year of the reign of Emperor Tiberius John the Baptist shows up in the Judean wilderness, on the shore of the Jordan River, eager to invite the people into God’s unfolding promise to mend the entire universe. It’s a bit of jolt because the alignment between that promise and the state of things in real time has grown so skewed. John is not deterred, and neither is Jesus.
In the second year of the reign of President Trump the Reedville Church shows up along the river of hope with Christians throughout the world watching and waiting for the Promised One. Join us by the river’s edge this second Sunday of Advent. It’s God in real time. Hope here.
And it’s the Great Day of Preparation with worship, Birthday Sunday cake, Names for the Messiah class, chili lunch, and Giving Tree gift wrapping party. And that’s not all! The Community Carol Sing is at 4:00 pm followed by hot cocoa and cookies, and creche display. We hope you’ll join us.
