We forget how much of the Judeo-Christian message is about blessedness in brokenness. It resonates because we all know brokenness, one way or another. Yet we avoid our brokenness like the plague (too soon?). Upon hearing Peter’s message about Jesus the community was “cut to the heart” and wanted to know what to do. When Jesus had dinner with disciples he blessed and broke bread with them, and they became blessed in their brokenness to be his presence in the world, the church. So we are, blessed in our brokenness.
Blessed and Broken, at the Reedville Church by Zoom, this Sunday at 9:30 am. If you’d like the Zoom invitation, email [email protected] by Friday.
