Helping Hands Clothing Closet-A Community Connection

Reedville Presbyterian Church has a Clothing Closet that is available to our congregation and people in the community who need a source for gently used clothing. The Clothing Closet is open on Tuesdays, at the same time as our Food Pantry, from 10 am-noon during the first 3 Tuesdays of the month. The entrance is located in Hampton Hall.

The Helping Hands Clothing Closet focuses on 2 areas:
1. Assisting families with children attending Reedville Elementary School (and other area schools) to help stretch the family budget to keep up with fast growing kids and provide teachers and staff with easy access to clothing items, if school day clothing mishaps occur.

2. Providing clothing for adults who work in farming, landscaping, and the nursery industry in partnership with Western Farm Workers Association.

To help support these 2 areas, we can use donations of:
--Clean, gently-used children’s and baby clothing New underwear and socks
     --New (and gently used) shoes
--Clean, gently-used clothing suitable for outdoor work such as jeans, heavy-soled shoes or boots, t-shirts, sweatshirts, work shirts, and rain gear (for both men and women)
--Women’s clothing such as slacks, sweaters or blouses.

Donations are always appreciated! If you are interested in volunteering we can always use help with sorting incoming clothing or assisting people with their clothing needs. If so, please contact the church office for more information.
